I set out on Saturday to clean my house, like any good wife who couldn't wade through the mess any longer would. I began my adventure and then like a miracle when told no television would be watched for the rest of the day if they didn't clean up their mess, my girls just started to clean. It was if by magic though because they didn't stop, they continued on the journey with me into the bathroom, through all the mirrors and windows and into the living room and kitchen vacuuming the floor, Olivia even vacuumed the dog hair off of the couches!
Now I have them! Little do they know that they have opened a door to the Labyrinth of cleaning. I know I sound like a horrible mother, but I remember when I was a kid and was doing dishes and complaining that I always had to do the dishes and my mom said, "When you have kids you can make them do the dishes!" I have kids, I have dishes....this is becoming like a wonderful fairy tale where I live happily ever after eating bon bons and watching soap operas. Now granted this was all without the power of money. No allowance was offered, and is doubtful to be offered since I am of the old-school and believe you shouldn't get money for cleaning up your own mess. I don't get any allowance and I clean up everyone else's mess. Ok sorry for the ranting, I just needed to share the wonderful news that I have found my own personal cleaning fairies. What are those child labor laws again?
I have kids, I have dishes...love it! I love that Cora can take out the trash (including pulling the cans out to the street and back) and they now clean the bathrooms as well...it's lovely! Enjoy the bon bons and catching up on your stories!
