We have had a very busy last couple of weekends. This past weekend the girls participated in the Harrison Classic, which is a children's one mile race down Harrison Blvd. I was extremely proud and surprised as both girls ran the entire time, no stopping. Which really means Mommy and Daddy have to run the whole way as well. Unfortunately mommies shin splints were alive and well and so everyone else beat mommy in the race. There is much to be said for warming up before a race, apparently even if it isn't your own. Both girls received a medal and had the great opportunity to have it signed by Kristin Armstrong, Olympic Gold Medalist. Both girls were inspired to see her and are looking forward to their race next year. Grandpa Scott, Uncle Phillip, the neighbors Rick and Mac and Michelle, Mathias and Neikko all came out to cheer the girls on! It was wonderful to see both girls so excited.
We also went to the apple orchard the first sunday in October. It was pouring rain and freezing, but we had a great time getting our yummy apples and kept our tradition going. Because of the rain I only got a few pictures, sorry. The month only gets more exciting for us - Next week is Sydney's 7th birthday! Can you believe it?! I can't. We are also looking forward to an upcoming visit from Auntie Genesis and Uncle Andy and to meet little man Quinn! Halloween brings excitement and buzz to our home as well. Both girls are planning every bit of their costumes and are getting excited for the candy hunt! Sydney is going to be Cleopatra (she has been really interested in Egypt this year) and Olivia is going to be a vampire. No idea what mom and dad are going to be this year, usually we know by now. I may just end up going as a frazzled student since that is the part I have been playing all semester....we will see. Hope you are all enjoying a wonderful, crisp fall....except those of you in Wyoming apparently, sorry. Much love to you all!
